If like me your convoy fuel gauge stopped working you will be looking for a cheap fix. This is what i did. Pictured below is a LED fuel Gauge i bought on ebay. Just type in Universal Fuel Gauge and set the search to cheapest first. I got mine from China delivered for under £5
The gauge does not come with a wire diagram or any other means of wiring it up. Look at other sellers of the same gauge as some give a brief description of what wire is for what. Bellow is the back of your clocks. These are the digital 2.4 clocks but i presume the 2.5 cable driving speedo is very much the same for the fuel gauge. Yellow wire connects to the sender what is FU on the back of the clocks. Black is ignition what is IGN on the clocks and Green is Ground what is GND on the clocks
Below is the rev counter version of the clocks.
Wire these up with the ignition off. When ready turn on and you will see an adjuster what you turn with a small screwdriver. This is set almost spot on. If you dont know how much fuel is in your tank i would suggest you full it up before setting the clock. I knew i had around a quarter tank so i set it to three blobs. Red, Amber and Green. Away i went to the garage and bought a Jerry can of fuel and put that in and the gauge went up a blob (Picture) Now i have the Bus what is meant to be a 70lt tank so i am expecting each block to be around 1.5 gallons so if im right mine is reading low. I am going for another Jerry tomorrow and expect it to go up two blobs and if not adjust accordingly.
And this is where i stuck it. Drilled through dash and used the two supplied bolts to fix
If you have a van, pickup you will have 64lt tank or 14 gallons so work out your own to what you have but as said i would fill it up and when gauge shows full i would turn it down so the top blob starts to flicker and see how you go from there. This is an easy half hour job and if like me (Tight) and buy from china mine was here in 13 days. Good luck.
